Summary:

The work assignment will involve many aspects of heavy civil construction and/or road construction and paving operations. The Project Coordinator will work in the office and in the construction field assisting the Project Management team.


What does Project Coordinator do?:


  • Assist with overall project performance including costs, schedule, and quality
  • Maintain and promote excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and the public
  • Manage change order processes, including pricing, negotiating, processing and assessing cost and schedule impact
  • Expedite progress payment certificates, final payment certificates and extra work orders
  • Ensure compliance with legislated safety and environmental requirements and best practices by adhering to the Company's OH&S management system
  • Assist in planning, preparing and updating work schedules and executing construction activities
  • Oversee quality assurance and quality control activities on the project site and adhere to contract requirements
  • Maintain plans, specifications, cost and materials estimates, subcontracts and reports and ensure latest issues are distributed as required
  • Coordinate procurement of construction materials ensuring timely delivery and accuracy of materials in accordance with the terms of the purchase order
  • Ensure project cost requirements are met and coding procedures are followed
  • Assist with estimating and bidding projects as required
  • Other duties that may be assigned by the Project Manager

As a Project Coordinator, You Will:

  • Successful completion of Civil/Survey Technology diploma program with recognized college; new graduates welcome to apply
  • Strong knowledge in municipal related works, concentrating in water, sewer and sanitary projects
  • Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wideranging climates and environments
  • Possess strong mathematical and computer skills (experience with Microsoft Office, bidding software)
  • Knowledge of construction, with ability to read plans and specifications
  • Knowledge of municipal and provincial specifications and practices, an asset
  • Knowledge of Surveying level, GPS, Base Station and Total Station
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Work independently as well as part of a team
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
  • Demonstrate effective organizational skills/time management skills
  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence
  • Good understanding of budgets, costing and time tracking.
  • Willing to work flexible hours determined by demanding construction schedules, including nights and/or weekends
  • Ability to travel and extended stays from home
