    Role overview

    Cognizant is looking for a driven, hands-on IT hardware and software Plant IT Champion that can keep manufacturing IT systems running smoothly, handle IT life cycle projects, and ensure manufacturing IT needs are met. This person will be the Single Point of Contact for multiple USA sites. This person will act as the liaison between manufacturing sites and IT, ensuring manufacturing IT systems run trouble free, timely completion of projects, delivering quality outputs/results, and anticipating the business needs impacting IT.

    The candidate will have the ability to speak both IT and OT knowledgeable in the levels of the ISA-95 model, critical manufacturing operations, collaborating with the enterprise systems, computer/network infrastructure, equipment connectivity, and security. This is an onsite job where safety practices must be followed, understand how manufacturing works, and recognize the business needs for growth, re-alignment, and products. The candidate will have a home base and travel as needed to nearby sites. This person applies standard processes to organize computer/network hardware, cabling, documentation, patching, and health monitoring. In addition, they are the "hard- working hands" working with offshore support specialists and familiar with IT terminology, practices, and tools. When a disaster unfolds, this person owns the charge for recovery.

    What you'll do

    • Build relationships with site personnel to be their trusted advisor. Be their voice for IT.
    • Proactively monitor manufacturing IT system health for multiple locations and address issues and outages
    • Oversee user IT requests, get involved to move request along, and clear roadblocks.
    • Assess plant IT infrastructure and make improvements as needed.
    • Plan, coordinate, communicate project efforts and provide onsite project support for IT equipment.
    • Maintain support documentation such as network diagrams, architectures, hardware inventory, application inventory, and key contacts in a site playbook.
    • Be the source of functional understanding of IT processes, tools, and integration of plant equipment with IT platforms and applications as well as Manufacturing business knowledge.

    What you bring to the role

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, Computer Science, Networking, or similar technical field
    • 5+ years of hands-on experience with manufacturing applications, manufacturing network infrastructure, workstations, tablets, laptops, servers, firewalls, storage, barcode scanners, and printers.
    • Experience working in production environment, know & follow safety procedures, and knowledgeable in manufacturing processes especially agricultural. - Required
    • Experience with Windows Administration, VMware Knowledge, and Desktop administration knowledge- Required.
    • Demonstrated experience for manufacturing infrastructure best practices and IT standards.
    • Demonstrated experience to solving issues at all levels of manufacturing hierarchy (L1 to L4)
    • Effective communicator for technical and non-technical stakeholders, users, and IT staff, at all levels of the organization as an IT/OT hybrid
