Job Overview

  • The Fulfillment Officer is responsible for adjudication on identified mortgage broker submissions and providing administrative support to the team to ensure personalized service for the broker network, members and prospective members.

Role

  • Conduct file reviews to ensure documentation is complete and accurate prior to funding
  • Accurately process ALT-A, B Nontraditional and C-Nontraditional Mortgage renewals
  • Focus on mortgage retention through internal and external member contact
  • Review, recommend decisions, and when within approved limit, make adjudication decision on mortgage broker credit submissions
  • Coordinate and monitor the quality of credit submissions from various sources, ensuring timely and accurate submission of all retail credit reports
  • Keep informed of, and be excited to implement service improvements, new concepts, efficiencies, processes, software technology etc. that will improve the operating proficiency of the retail lending function
  • As required, assist employees in solving problems and helping with complex workrelated matters
  • Answer and/or investigate queries from brokers and/or staff by telephone, making referrals as necessary
  • Keep informed on FCU mortgage products/services, interest rates, lending policies/procedures and other pertinent information
  • Pay close attention to details when you prepare all required documentation and gather all pertinent information to ensure a complete credit file, referring any credit not approved to the appropriate person
  • Complete all related reports, entries, followup on deals as required
  • Consider, recommend and when appropriate implement efficiencies and improved systems and processes
  • Play an active role in your personal professional development, participating in/subscribing to professional associations as approved
  • Consider health & safety as a primary concern to ensure the overall wellbeing of yourself and others
  • Perform other duties as required

Required Skills:


  • Hold a postsecondary Degree or Diploma in business or economics or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience
  • Have one to three (13) years' lending experience in the financial services industry, specifically in the area of mortgage credit
  • Have working knowledge of credit investigation, analysis and related policies and procedures
  • Have experience preferably in the financial services/mortgage financing industry
  • Have working knowledge of lending platforms; CRIterion is considered an asset
  • Experience and knowledge of CMHC and Sagen Insurance requirements
  • Be highly analytical and detail orientated when it comes to reporting, data analysis and writing credit deals
  • Enjoy being a team player, willing to assist other staff as required
  • Be adaptable and an organized multitasker that thrives in a fast pace, growing work environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and with time sensitive deadlines
  • Have strong underwriting skills and good negotiating skills
  • Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Be willing to work irregular hours as required to accommodate member service demands and deadlines
  • Enjoy being a team player, willing to assist other staff as required
  • Be aware of and mitigate enterprise risk factors and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, legislation and FirstOntario policies and procedures
