About the role:


The Direct Support Worker is responsible to the Primary Direct Support on shift for guidance and direction, and reports to the Program Manager.

The Direct Support Worker provides support and assistance to individuals that promotes their independence and is person centered.


WAGE:

$23.84 to 27.17 hourly


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Postsecondary degree/diploma in the social services field, such as a DSW/PSW or enrolled in a related college or university program is preferred.
OR
Related experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

  • CPR, Emergency First Aid, NVCI
  • G license required
  • Experience supporting individuals with Dual Diagnosis, Mental Health & Addictions would be an asset

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to advocate for others
  • Strong problemsolving skills and takes initiative in making improvements
  • Ability to contribute to a safe environment for coworkers and clients.
  • Can communicates respectfully, openly and honestly.
  • Demonstrated experience working with adults with an intellectual/developmental disability is preferable.
