We are seeking a talented Unreal Engine Technical Director to our team who will serve a key role in developing tools, implementing technical solutions, and fully integrating Unreal Engine into our production pipeline.

Our studio is located in the trendy Mount Pleasant area just a short walk away from the Main Street-Science World Skytrain Station.

Job Title
:
Unreal Engine Technical Director
(Animation and real-time solutions)


What You'll Do:

  • Develop and implement technical solutions in Unreal Engine
  • Take part in the design and development of a remote pipeline solution
  • Understand, troubleshoot, and propose improvements to the current needs of the pipeline
  • Participate in code reviews and deploy version controlled code updates
  • Write and update technical documentation
  • Communicate in both a technical and artistic manner across multiple departments
  • Adhere to the company's coding standards
  • Learn from experienced industry professionals
  • Work collaboratively and creatively with the production and pipeline teams

What You Need:

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Extensive experience working with all areas of Unreal Engine
  • Experience using/maintaining Perforce
  • Comfortable using the Blueprint Visual Scripting system
  • Excellent Python skills
  • Able to work independently and work within production schedules
  • Excellent technical troubleshooting skills and problemsolving abilities
  • Strong communication skills and ability to liaise between management and staff
  • Ability to take direction and provide a consistent quality of work
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask

Nice To Have:

  • Experience working with Autodesk Maya
  • Experience with Unreal Engine's animation tools and rigging
  • Experience coding with C++ is a bonus
  • Strong math skills, especially linear algebra and trigonometry
  • Experience with the Niagara system, Lumen, and Nanite
  • Knowledge of Git is a bonus
