Junior Analyst (Co-op Student), Credit Risk Management

Vancouver, B.C.

About the Role:

Working within the Credit Risk Management team that is responsible for assessing/underwriting new lending opportunities sourced by the CMLS Origination team.
Learning and understanding the life cycle of a mortgage financing and internal processes and systems to facilitate a mortgage from point of origination to funding.
Reviewing third property reports for the property, conducting various credit searches on the borrower and reviewing tenant leases to identify potential risks with the mortgage.
Working closely with Risk Managers, Analysts and Funders in the Credit Risk Management team and internal partners including the Program Management Team and Originators.
Working on multiple tasks/deals under tight deadlines and learning to prioritize accordingly.
Performing other duties in keeping with the purpose and accountabilities of the job, such as preparing reports, assisting with compliancerelated tasks and completing department projects as assigned

This role is for you if you have:

You are a 4th year university/post-secondary student
You have a keen interest in working in the Commercial Real Estate lending industry
You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and are able to work well independently as well as within a team environment
You have experience creating and delivering business presentations and strong technical writing skills
You are very results-driven and possess strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail
You take ownership of your work and demonstrate a high degree of accountability and commitment at all times
You are completing an undergraduate degree in one of the following concentrations: finance, economics, urban land development, accounting or business administration
You are an intermediate to advanced level user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
You have a passion for real estate combined with an understanding of financial and statement analysis
