OPERATIONS MANAGER




SALARY:
$80,000 Annual plus benefits


PURPOSE:

To provide effective coordination of supervision, support and back up to all contract locations. To maintain and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures. To perform administrative support functions as required to facilitate the position. To assist in the development of new business and maintenance of contracts. To maintain proactive and regular contact with client designates. To manage a team of Service Delivery Managers. To provide other services as necessary.

Job Knowledge

  • Post Orders and Duty Briefings for
    all Posts

  • Knowledgeable of all Legal Authorities pertaining to duties.
  • Generally knowledgeable of Access Control, Alarm, CCTV systems and fire systems.
  • Emergency Procedures and be able to implement the same as necessary.
  • Criminal Code of Canada and any applicable provincial and federal laws.
  • Private Investigators and Security Guards Act. Including all applicable regulations and guidelines pertaining to working as a Security Guard in the Province of Ontario.
  • Knowledge of Supervisory duties and training requirements for all sites.
  • Understanding of company growth and profit objectives
  • Strong understanding of business financials

Skills

  • Has knowledge and ability to use PC based incident reporting and scheduling systems.
  • Has knowledge and ability to use CCTV equipment; access systems and PC controlled security systems.
  • Has conflict resolution skills and is able to use them effectively.
  • Demonstrates good judgement in the performance of all duties.
  • Has the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Displays versatility in dealings with clients, employees and the public.

Duties

  • Acts as the day to day client contact while working closely with the Director of Operations
  • Monitor and enforce all designated operational procedures and regulations.
  • Ensures Post orders and Duty Briefings are current and up to date.
  • Prepares Non-Conformance Reports for all incidents, complaints or deficiencies discovered that affect the delivery of service to our clients.
  • Maintains an open line of communication with clients to help ensure the delivery of quality services.
  • Ensures the accurate preparation of Incident Summary Reports, weekly & monthly.
  • Ensures the accurate preparation of Post Orders
  • Assists in the planning and implementation of new contracts.
  • Assists in the Hiring and screening of new employees, including conducting interviews.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing levels are available at all times.
  • Ensures all posts are covered in accordance with our contractual obligations.
  • Ensures employee training is maintained and effectively executed.
  • Ensures and assists in maintaining effective control and scheduling of maintenance for all issued equipment, including that issued to each Supervisor. This includes company motor vehicles.
  • Enforces all rules, policies and procedures in a fair and impartial manner.
  • Communicates instructions from Head Office to all field staff.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation:Conduct security risk assessments and make recommendations for improvements. Implement strategies to mitigate security risks.
  • Ensures new initiatives are reviewed and approved prior to Implementation.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and oversee emergency response plans and procedures. Coordinate responses to security incidents, accidents, and emergencies.

Equipment Management:
Oversee the maintenance and functionality of security equipment, such as surveillance cameras, alarms, and access control systems. Evaluate and recommend the implementation of new security technologies.

  • Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for security operations. Monitor expenses and find ways to reduce costs without compromising security.
  • Mentoring Service Delivery Managers and Plan for growth opportunities for Service Delivery Managers through Succession Planning
  • Other duties as required by the company.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


  • Must be a Canadian Citizen or Landed Immigrant.
  • Must have valid security license in the province of Ontario
  • Business management degree preferred
  • Must have a full Ontario Drivers license with no restrictions.
  • Must have and maintain a clean drivers abstract.
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience within the security industry
  • Minimum of 3 years employment within a business management position in the Security Industry
  • Must have experience
