Job Summary:


The Manager, Corporate Development will report to the VP, Corporate Development and working closely with the other members of the Corporate Development group will provide strategic input and assist in the day-to-day operations of the department.

What You Will Do:


  • Conduct industry research to identify new markets of interest for ATS, oversee financial modeling and analyses, and provide corresponding recommendations to business leaders and the ATS executive team
  • Responsible for the identification, evaluation, execution, due diligence, negotiation and integration activities relating to growth opportunities, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures
  • With the VP Corporate Development, develop appropriate strategies to approach and engage potential M&A targets and execute those strategies
  • Oversee a diverse and global crossfunctional team in due diligence activities related to acquisitions and new business opportunities
  • Prepare relevant financial and value analyses on targets and analysis to assess the potential impact to ATS of consummating such an acquisition
  • Work closely with certain business units of ATS in preparing internal and external proposals, assisting with business planning and strategy and other operations support
  • Act as a trusted advisor, fostering a strong collaborative partnership with senior leaders from across the organization
  • Drive continuous improvement and establish new best practices (methodologies and processes) in the management and completion of M&A transaction files
  • Assist with the preparation and presentation of findings and analysis to executive leaders
  • Engage with and manage a direct report for all corporate development initiatives
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct

What You Will Need:


Education and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or equivalent
  • Expertise in financial modeling, creating presentation materials and reviewing documentation
  • Excellent analytical ability including demonstrated knowledge of valuation techniques
  • Knowledge of accounting principles relating to financial statement preparation
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent decision making, organizational and verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to work within a fastpaced and dynamic team environment, managing multiple projects at a time
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills
  • Experience with Factset, CapitalIQ, Salesforce an asset
  • Some travel required as needed

Experience:

  • 3+ years' experience in investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory services, equity research, corporate development or strategy with strong financial acumen
  • Proven experience in assessing strategic fit, managing buyside processes, conducting due diligence, financial modeling, and developing appropriate documents to support the investment thesis
