Since 1980, Bevco has been manufacturing conveyors and equipment for the Food and Beverage industry. From our modest beginnings of a small 5-person shop, we have worked hard to fulfill our customers' needs.

Today, more than 500 industry leaders, many of them Fortune 500 companies, trust Bevco to manufacture conveyors and equipment for their production lines.

Recently, we have supplied conveyors and equipment for several local breweries and numerous other breweries throughout Canada and the USA.

JOB DESCRIPTION


The manufacture of our conveyor systems and equipment flows through several key areas of our production floor: Parts, Welding and Fabrication, Machining, Wearstripping, Assembly, and Crating.

We are in need of a mechanically apt individual with experience using hand tools to join Bevco's production team and contribute to the assembly of our conveyor equipment.

This is a full-time permanent position.

Our standard work week is Monday to Thurdsay from 7 AM to 5:30 PM with additional overtime work on Fridays as required to meet production deadlines.


Opportunity

  • Work as part of a collaborative manufacturing organization towards the production of conveyors and equipment for breweries and other food and beverage companies
  • Work in an exciting industry conveyance of bottled/canned/cased beverages and food products
  • Work on a variety of different equipment types: Conveyor Systems, Cooling Tunnels, Cap Sterilizers, Rinsers, Control Systems, etc.

Fabrication and Assembly

  • Fabricate and assemble conveyor systems and machinery for the food and beverage packaging industry
  • Install sprockets, bearings, chain drives, drive shafts, drive motors, conveyor chains and guide rail systems
  • Use milling machine and lathe to machine shafts, keyways and other custom components
  • Fabricate and prepare parts for assembly
  • Disassemble and crate finished equipment to prepare for shipment
  • Use table saws, planers, etc. to make custom UHMW wearstripping profiles
  • Wire motors to local disconnects or frequency inverters
  • Install conduit and preliminary wiring between a central control panel and electrical devices on the conveyor system shop prior to shipment
  • Install Bevco conveyors and equipment on site at customer locations

General Shop Activities

  • Problem solve and troubleshoot to assess and repair existing conveyors and machinery
  • Assess and maintain Bevco machinery and tools used for manufacturing
  • Install new machinery when purchased for Bevco manufacturing
  • Carry out building maintenance as required

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High School Diploma
  • Apprentice or journeyman millwright or other relevant trade is an asset

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Strong skills relevant to the manufacturing, assembly or maintenance of conveyor systems and equipment for the packaging industry
  • Experience operating basic hand tools, saws, drills, brakes, shears, grinders, etc.
  • Experience maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment in production and onsite environments
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and components, such as shafts, motors, sprockets, gears, pneumatics, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes (machining, welding, CNC, sheet metal work, laser or waterjet cutting)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical fabrication, mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Ability to read a tape measure and accurately use it prior to cutting, drilling, etc.
  • Metal working and wood working knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge of minor hoisting and lifting

Skills that would be Additional Assets

  • Occupational First Aid certification
  • Forklift operation
