Position Description:

The
Professor, in the School of Computer Technology, is responsible for providing academic leadership and for developing an effective, learning-centred environment for students through the design and delivery of curriculum within the School of Computer Technology at George Brown as well as the development of new curriculum in response to industry trends, technology and research.

The professor will teach courses to students in all years at the diploma and postgraduate certificate level, in
Computer Programming and Analysis, Game Programming and AI Solution Development programs in addition to other degrees, diplomas and certificate level courses when required.

Education / Certification / Designation:

D. in Computer Science.

Experience:

Ten (5) fulltime years of industryrelevant experience in software development, software design, database development, and/or fullstack development.
Knowledge and experience with the latest software development methodologies and tools is required.
A history of scholarship and peerreviewed publications will be an asset.
Prior postsecondary teaching training and experience in adult instruction techniques, and curriculum design experience is required and will be applied in various teaching and learning settings.

Knowledge / Skills Set:

Must have experience with advanced learning technologies, including online delivery.
Involvement in innovation and professional development related to teaching, use of technology, and student success.
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and lifelong learning.
Excellent communication, collaboration, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated commitment to upholding the College's priorities on diversity and equity.

Interview process will consist of a mock teaching experience and, in some cases, a practical skills component.
