Job Duties

Manage a fastpaced, high functioning group of passionate geoscientists and data analysts that provide 24/7 stateoftheart monitoring solutions to customers around the globe striving to make our clients' lives better.
Coordinate daily Data Analyst team scheduling and prioritization activities to maximize resource utilization and ensure the highest quality service delivery to meet client contractual obligations.
Generate technical reports and presentations for clients. Present processing results and lead technical discussions with customers. Provide sales support and ensure deliverable QC/QA.
Manage the 24/7 Data Center oncall operations, that includes actively maintaining schedules and key performance indicators.
Lead implementation and integration of new geophysical data processing techniques into client project workflows.
Identify problems in the operations process and communicate them effectively to upper management and development teams.
Support research projects including internal tool development and expansion to meet the Analyst team needs to aid in processing efficiency, quality and scalability.
Provide continuous feedback on Nanometrics data analysis tools and processes to drive bug fixes, design changes and usability improvements. Maintain clear and accurate analyst operations documents, such as procedures, standards and best practices.
Provide mentorship, coaching, training and promote an environment of continuous learning, respect and open communication within the team.
Other duties as assigned.

Key Competencies

A demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, help them set and reach their goals and meet operational targets.
Exceptional communications skills and goal oriented with a focus on positive customer outcomes through relationship building and active customer engagement.
Experience as a Geoscientist or Geological Engineer in the field of Seismology, Oil & Gas or Mining related industry; prior experience with seismic network data acquisition and analysis.
A team player with a keen attention to detail and high level of ethics and integrity.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Science or related field.
510 years experience in a 24/7 data center or operations environment in geophysics, seismology, or related field, with at least 4 years in a supervisory role.
A demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, help them set and reach their goals and meet department targets
Exceptional communications skills and goal oriented with a focus on results for the customer

Assets

Prior experience with processing of surface microseismic data sets is a key requirement.
Demonstrated track record of leading teams and providing mentorship to junior staff.
Proficiency in Python programming (or another, immediately transferrable scripting language).
Knowledge of the principles of mining / geotechnical engineering, geophysics and / or seismology.
Work experience in the mining sector (in particular underground mining) and / or field experience on mines is considered an advantage.
Prior experience with seismic data processing techniques such as double difference relocation, velocity model building, STA/LTA triggering, template matching, beamforming, noisereduction filtering, event magnitude computation, focal mechanism/moment tensor inversion and stress field inversion.
Prior experience with industry standard task management tools such as JIRA.
