The Foundations, Major Gifts and Planned Giving Officer is responsible for co-ordinating donor-focused programs and activities in the areas of foundations, major gifts and planned giving.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

:


  • Helps to maintain a departmental focus on developing quality relationships with foundations and individual major gifts and planned giving donors.
  • Works closely with the Manager of Foundations & Planned Giving and the Head of Major Gifts and Stewardship to ensure appropriate and effective strategies and systems are in place to identify new planned gifts, major donors and foundations, cultivate and educate potential donors and recognize, engage and steward current donors.
  • Tracks donor relationships and solicitations in Raiser's Edge CRM.
  • Coordinates the planned giving recognition program.
  • Participates in the development of program materials in collaboration with Advocacy and Communications department.
  • Assists in planning and monitoring the related program budgets.
  • Researches prospective foundations and individuals to approach.
  • Writes persuasive funding proposals.
  • Prepares appropriate reports for effective monitoring of foundations and planned giving.
  • Prepares donor profiles and impact reports as needed and within agreed upon timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

:


  • Indepth knowledge of an academic or technical discipline normally acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree (e.g. arts, social sciences, business). In addition, a certificate or diploma in fundraising will be considered an asset
    (Cases for Equivalency will be considered).

  • 3 to 5 years' experience within a fundraising department, preferably in a role related to individual or foundation giving.
  • Proven history of writing persuasive casesforsupport and proposals and securing funding.
  • Experience with prospect research.
  • Familiarity with planned giving.
  • Knowledge of the social service sector and awareness of issues affecting women, girls and gender diverse people.
  • Computer competency in word processing, spreadsheets and database management software (Raiser's Edge preferred).
  • Superior organizational and administrative skills as well as a proven ability to work within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrated good judgment and the ability to manage multiple projects.

Note

:

Restriction on vacation during key donor engagement periods and events.

It may be necessary at times to work in excess of 35 hours per week, and this may include evenings and weekends.


Vaccination Policy

In accordance with YWCA Toronto's COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, all YWCA Toronto employees are required to be fully vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccination series by October 30, 2021.
