    We are seeking a Computer Operator to join our BPA team in Mississauga.

    The Computer Operator is responsible for monitoring and controlling electronic computer and peripheral electronic data processing equipment to process business, scientific, engineering, and other data according to operating instructions. May enter commands at a computer terminal and set controls on computer and peripheral devices. Monitors and responds to operating and error messages. AMS and cheque processing.

    Office hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 P.m. or 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Some additional hours may be required during other hours.

    The Computer Operator will:

  • Enter commands, using computer terminal, and operate computer and peripheral equipment.
  • Monitor the system for equipment failure or errors in performance.
  • Processing AMS, claim cheques and EOB.
  • Notify manager or technicians of equipment malfunctions.
  • Respond to routine program error messages by finding and correcting problems or restarting the program or service.
  • Follow defined procedures to determine proper equipment, order of use, materials, and control settings to be used.
  • Use software to load and manipulate data and to produce standard reports.
  • Retrieve, separate and sort output as needed, and send data to specified users.
  • Load peripheral equipment with selected materials for operating runs, according to defined procedures.
  • To be successful as a Computer Operator with BPA, you will need:

  • Ability to follow technical procedures, identify and document problems, recognizing when escalation is required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness and judgment to resolve routine problems of a procedural nature.
