SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Cafe Supervisor, the Cafe Clerk ensures that the café department is always performing in an effective and efficient manner, minding ICS's policies and procedures for all actions and decisions.

Café Clerks will support and follow ICS's mission and values.

Schedule Details

Monday to Sunday Availability
Shifts vary between 7:00 a.m. till 9:15 p.m.
Mornings, Midday, Evenings and Weekends Required

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLILITIES

Prioritize providing exceptional customer service to deliver a positive customer experience thereby cultivating a positive reputation for the company and fostering customer loyalty.
Welcoming customers to the café and accepting orders and payments.
Answering customer questions by highlighting the differences between items and brew methods.
Using manual and electrical appliances to prepare various styles of coffee.
Preparing and packaging foods such as sandwiches, baked goods, and gelato.
Taking inventory and replenishing items in display cases, at tables, or behind the counter.
Cleaning work and dining areas; cleaning tables, emptying trash, and sanitizing equipment and utensils.
Ensuring the availability of clean dishes and flatware with the use of the dishwasher and/or handwashing.
Sweeping and mopping floors, especially in the event that items are broken or spilled.
Promoting products and services that the ICS offers.
Following the company's food safety standards.
Assist in the kitchen preparing pizzas.
Working as part of a fun, highenergy team.
Representing ICS both in and out of the store.
Adhering to all food safety protocols, standard operating procedures, health and safety policies, and other programs and initiatives. Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education

High school diploma or GED from an accredited school system or program is preferred.

Experience

A minimum of one year of experience in a customer focused role is preferred.

Skills and Abilities

Excellent listening skills and communication skills, both verbally and written.
Ability to work under pressure while always maintaining a professional image.
Working independently with little direct supervision.
Having a wellbalanced concern for both tasks and people. Having a genuine concern for the needs of customers.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Required to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. (_Shifts may start as early as 7 a.m.)_
Required at times to work with challenging customers and/or situations.
Exposed to hot and cold environments.
Exposed to stoves, grills, pizza ovens and coffee machines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Long periods of standing and walking.
Frequent motions include bending, twisting, squatting, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
Manual and repetitive tasks.
On occasion, you may be required to lift up to 22.5 kg (50 lbs).
