Description:

The Assembly of First Nations is seeking an experienced and skilled individual to conduct research and provide analysis, advice and advocacy surrounding First Nations homelessness.

The Policy Analyst in the Housing and Homelessness sector will be responsible for gathering, researching, monitoring, analyzing, and preparing information and statistics related to First Nations homelessness.

The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the activities of Homelessness within the Housing and Homelessness Sector and advancing national First Nations homelessness advocacy positions, interests and strategies.

Applicants must possess:

An undergraduate degree in a related field of study and 3 to 5 years of directly relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
A minimum of 3 years of positive experience working with First Nations and/or First Nations programs and policies.
Knowledge and understanding, and demonstrated expertise, with respect to First Nations homelessness.
Familiarity of manipulating and analyzing data on management information systems/databases and Excel
Excellent written and verbal skills, including the ability to use appropriate terminology.
Demonstrated ability to understand and conduct research, analyze statistical data, and interpret and communicate findings clearly and concisely to a variety of stakeholders
Demonstrated experience working with First Nations, federal, provincial, territorial, northern, urban, and international governments, and officials
Demonstrated interpersonal skills, teamwork, and judgement
Demonstrated time management, planning, and organizational skills
English is the working language although the ability to communicate effectively in French

or an Indigenous language would be an asset

Other Job Requirements:
