Description

Delbrook Integrative Medical Centre is a well established health care centre located in the community of Delbrook in North Vancouver.

We offer an integrated approach to optimal health through Naturopathic Medicine, Massage Therapy, and more. Our team of skilled practitioners currently includes four Registered Massage Therapists and a naturopathic physician.

Previously we have had providers offer botox, nutritionists, personal trainers, and a medical doctor, and we plan to continu expanding the clinic offerings & practitioner roster.

We are looking for a professional and energetic individual with excellent interpersonal skills for our receptionist position. This is a permanent position. Hours are 9:00am-5:00pm (with a potential for some flexibility), Monday through Friday.

You would complete our team of experienced health care providers and join us in a healthy work environment as an integral part of our health team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The responsibilities of the position include:

  • Greeting incoming patients with a friendly and positive attitude.
  • Open and close clinic.
  • General office administration
  • Management & regular updating of electronic medical records software (JaneApp) settings & configurations
  • Answering telephone calls and performing followup calls.
  • Invoicing and processing payments from patients before & after treatments
  • Billing: including Submission, Reconciliation, Printing Reports and Third Party (insurance) Billing
  • Following up on any accounts receivable for the clinic or any of the clinic practitioners
  • Patient preparation for the doctor(s), including organizing and preparing patient files and information, preparing treatment rooms, and any other preparation for therapist treatment.
  • Maintaining clinic standards of cleanliness and organization, including taking out recycling &/or trash
  • Phoning in patient prescriptions to drug stores or pharmacies
  • Ordering medical supplies and maintaining dispensary inventory.
  • Selling nutritional products, aesthetic products, and refills to patients.
  • Preparing lab specimens for courier pick up, and dropping off Lifelabs samples to local labs (requires a vehicle, and will be paid standard wage for this time)
  • Housekeeping and clinic maintenance (ex furnace filter replacement) & hygiene duties
  • Other tasks as required by the clinic or Dr. Lucas, which may be online or relating to website, social media, hiring &/or training of other staff, procedure manual production and revision, scanning documents, contacting patients or lab/product companies, or similar.

Requirements/Qualifications:


  • Absolute ability to maintain patient confidentiality & privacy at all times before & after employment.
  • High School Diploma
  • Medical Office Assistant certificate or diploma _helpful_
  • Minimum 1 year experience in reception or similar. Experience with naturopathic physicians &/or massage therapists preferred.
  • Strong administrative skills with the ability and desire to learn new software
- _Excellent written and verbal communication and English skills required_

  • Ability to deal with a diversity of people in a calm, courteous, and effective manner.
  • We use a web based, very friendly software program called JaneApp; knowledge and experience with JaneApp preferred, but any similar booking & billing software is a plus.
  • Some technological savvy, as some days may require virtual work via our electronic medical records system, virtual phone system, and various others. Training will be provided, and virtual work occurs during working hours at discretion of clinic.
  • Familiarity and knowledge around nutritional products, supplements and/or herbs is an asset
  • Familiarity and sound experience with Microsoft Office. (Especially Word).
  • Organized, detailoriented with excellent time management.
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt to change and exercise judgment and make decisions.
  • Able to follow through on a task with consistent performance.
  • Excellent phone and customer service skills.
  • Friendly, personable, cooperative and a professional attitude.
  • Ability to prioritize and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to selfmanage, and use working hours for work purposes only
  • Willingness & desire to continue to learn and expand skills and knowledge
  • Professional attire required

Salary or Payment (Variable based on experience, the following is a minimum)

  • 3 Months probation: starting at $16/hr
  • Normal payment begins after this period. Will be between $17$18/hour.
  • Payment is offered on the 1st and 15th of each month, and will include vacation pay
