- Along with the Senior Houseparent, works with a team of houseparents in the house by providing pastoral care and building positive relationships with students in their house.
- Supports administrative aspects of the functioning of the house as delegated by the Senior Houseparent.
- Works collaboratively with Faculty, the Health Centre and Counselling staff to support students.
- Demonstrates commitment to working with all students and adults in the House, and with other members of the school community in support of their students and the Boarding Program.
- Creates a Boarding environment that fosters personal and social responsibility within the house.
- Participates in House, Boarding, and School community events.
- Will be required to complete First Aid CPR level C.
- Experience working with youth in a Boarding or similar setting is an asset.
- Good understanding of the health and wellness needs of youth, as well as experience in adolescent behaviour.
- Experience working collaboratively with staff and parents.
- Experience with the development of skills such as leadership, empowerment through coaching and feedback, conflict resolution, mental health interventions, and understanding of different cultures.
- Well suited to those with education in a related discipline, such as Secondary Education, Counselling, or Psychology.
- Energetic, self-motivated and team-oriented.
- Ability to adapt to a variety of situations.
- Meals in the dining hall during the duration of the contract term. Meals are a taxable benefit.
- Housing in shared accommodation. Accommodation is a taxable benefit.
