Sika has been present in Canada since 1957 through its subsidiary - Sika Canada Inc.The Pointe-Claire site, located near Montreal, houses the head office for all Canadian operations, which includes the research & development, administration, sales, and marketing departments, including a production plant and a main distribution centre serving the entire country.
These facilities operate under dual certification - ISO 9001 for quality management systems and ISO 14001 for environmental management systems.
With regional offices and manufacturing facilities located in Anjou, Boisbriand, Pont-Rouge, Quebec; Brantford, Cambridge, Oakville, Sudbury, Ontario; Edmonton, Alberta; and Surrey, British Columbia, Sika Canada employs more than 600 people and is able to effectively share its international expertise with local customers and stakeholders.
Exciting Challenges- As a member of the management team, participate in the decision-making process for both the operations group responsibilities and the overall company activities.
- Provide coaching and development to local management teams and promote Sika Canada values and expectations.
- Ensures compliance and development of Sika's Health/Safety/Environmental policies and applicable regulations to properly manage the level of risk and protect the environment.
- Ensure availability of products at minimum cost to plants by ensuring compliance with internal and global procedures.
- Ensure that the compliance of all products manufactured at all plants are verified by the laboratory and that corrective and preventive actions are implemented as required.
- Ensure the maintenance of ISO registration for Sika Canada Inc.
- Ensure the maintenance of the environmental management program registration.
- Ensure that raw materials and packaging products are stocked in sufficient quantities to meet demand while minimizing inventories.
- Develop, design, purchase and implement production equipment to improve efficiency and/or increase production capacity in accordance with the company's strategy and investment control policy while ensuring optimal return on investment.
- Work closely with management to achieve organizational objectives.
We Need Your Skills
- University degree in engineering or other equivalent degree
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience, ideally in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Minimum of ten (10) years experience in a management role
- Fluency in French and English (bilingualism)
- Experience in a multisite company (strong asset)
- Experience in cement or chemical products (strong asset)
- Great communication skills, ability to pass on knowledge and desire to contribute to the growth of the company while developing its management teams
- Entrepreneurial attitude and maintenance of this culture internally
- Very openminded
- Available to travel 15% to 25% of the time (mainly in Canada)
