The Role

Review the company's existing agreements and support the legal team's effort in establishing a contract database;
From time to time assist with drafting and reviewing of commercial agreements, including professional services, marketing partnerships, and business and SaaS agreements.
Respond to legal requests, communicating legal concepts to the business teams in a manner that is easy to understand.
Conduct research as needed and if needed prepare memoranda.
Assist the legal team's with special projects.
Other duties as may be required.

Please note that this is an Articling placement within an in-house legal department. The main areas of focus for this placement are contracts and commercial law.

Qualifications

Completion of a law degree (J.D. or equivalent)
Registered in the Lawyer Licensing Process with the Law Society of Ontario
Able to communicate effectively and professionally.
Able to work productively and efficiently under pressure.
Has great work ethic and ability to multitask.
Previous experience in a law firm or in house legal department is considered an asset.
