Job Description Summary:


Reporting to Transportation Manager, Transportation Dispatcher will act as an important part in the process of managing ICs' in our overall business.

This position is responsible to manage IC's in Apple Express' facilities or clients' facilities and fulfill requirements based on SOP's and SOW's.

In this role you will build, improve, implement tools and processes to enhance Transportation efficiency.

This will include clear communication between Apple and IC's, optimizing current routes, providing additional training and coaching to ICs when needed, to maintain all Transportation Metrics and reporting.

Shift time: 12pm-9pm


Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Job Key Contributions/Task):

  • Answer all incoming inquiries from IC's
  • Recognize opportunities for continuous improvement in the routing by improving management of fleet identify gaps and implement corrective action.
  • Manage IC's for schedule; including regular ICs, swing IC's and on call IC's in order to perform all daily deliveries and exceed customer's expectations.
  • Timely update all order notes into the system.i.e. Courier Complete
  • Communicate any order delays to customers / customer service / logistics coordinators
  • Ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (internals and client specifics)
  • Dispatch all orders on the assigned area or Dispatch board
  • Monitor the status of all Orders with particular milestones to ensure delivery remains on time
  • Assess requirements for all new orders and assign IC's accordingly
  • Trace and track requests
  • Follow Proof Of Delivery (POD) process
  • Ensure other dispatchers are adequately trained and knowledgeable on all areas of the clients
  • Participate/ lead other operational projects as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Great geography knowledge of Canada; specially GTA;
  • Excellent organizational, negotiation, planning and time management skills;
  • Analytical and Problem solving skills on the spot; be a self starter,
  • Proficient in English, oral and written;
  • Active listener with excellent communication skills;
  • Available to work after hours and weekends as required;

  • Selfmotivated with excellent work ethic, responsible, punctual and selfmanaged
  • Dispatch experience in transportation industry is a strong asset

Language Skills:

English is the principal language for this position.

This position requires good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment.
