    We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic SCADA and control center operations Students to join our Midstream Department for a 12-month work term. This role offers hands-on experience in the field of operations and technology, providing an opportunity for students to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios.

    Note: This is NOT a camp-based location. Successful candidates will be required to relocate to Lloydminster.

    What you'll do

  • Assist control center and scada operations personnel in the execution of various tasks and projects.
  • Provide technical support to scada and control center teams, including configuring, testing, investigating, and installing new systems.
  • Capture and record data from field operations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving operational issues, suggesting improvements, and implementing standard processes.
  • Who you are

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa)
  • Available to begin work in September 2024
  • Must be proficient in Excel
  • Experience using C++, Python, Virtual Systems, and Sequel software is considered an assist
  • Education

  • Must be enrolled in a Computer Science, Instrumentation, Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term
  • Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered
  • New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.

  • May include frequency of travel, sitting, standing, computer work, lifting, driving, working at site, etc.
  • Safety Sensitive

  • This may be a safety-sensitive role, and you will also be required to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during required work hours. Furthermore, you will also be required to pass the pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol assessment requirements.
  • Safety sensitive positions require the operation of a motor vehicle, applicants are asked to provide a recent (i.e., issued within the previous 4 weeks) original driver is abstract, for the preceding 5-year period, if offered the position. A valid Canadian class 5 Driver's License with no restrictions (i.e., non GDL) is a requirement for this role
