The Opportunity

What You'll Do

_ Project Responsibilities - 20_%**- Manages and leads all engineering and systems integration activities during the proposal, design, quality control, and construction stages of power and renewable projects that are assigned.

  • Provides management and leadership for subconsultants
  • Provides project oversight, including managing engineering and/or systems integration scope according to technical contracts, developing change orders, and maintaining project schedules.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of several disciplines on a project of significant scope or a combination of large projects.
  • Maintains high levels of quality to meet internal and external client requirements in alignment with company expectations.

_Management Responsibilities - 40%_

  • Maintains and grows positive team culture.
  • Provides strategic direction, leadership and technical services oversight for employees on achieving individual, team, department, and organizational performance goals.
  • Oversees and approves team budgets for financial responsibility. Includes but is not limited to revenue, profitability, and indirect expenses (training expenses, reward and recognition expenses, team event costs, etc.).
  • Coaches, trains and develops management staff for growth and development opportunities. Responsible for regular management meetings, 1:1 meetings, career development discussions, talent assessment succession planning, quarterly reviews, individual promotions, team retention, and yearly team engagement survey results.
  • Regularly evaluates capacity and skillsets to direct growth in workforce planning, supports strong cross team and cross office resourcing collaboration, performs individual performance reviews, evaluates individual annual merit and bonus decisions, and provides training and professional development for team members.

_Business Development Responsibilities - 40%_

  • Participates and partners with members of the Sales team and engineers throughout the organization to promote revenue growth, cost containment and expansion of services with existing and prospective clients that support the territory sales plan execution.
  • Supports proposal efforts by developing, providing resources, and reviewing proposals, contracts, work orders, MSAs and NDAs by working with Proposal Development Team and Project Management group.
  • Maintains and builds positive client relationships.

What We Expect from You

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a Canadian university program accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB) or equivalent
  • 15+ years of experience in the Engineering field preferred
  • P.Eng registration is preferred
  • Prior management experience required
  • Prior experience in one or more of the following is required: technical substation protective relay settings, metering, SCADA, Network, Solar/BESS Plant SCADA, project management in the power/renewable field
  • Must be analytical, selfmotivated, and possess the ability to work in highpressure situations while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic, and collaborative attitude
  • Focused and passionate around internal engagement and maximizing development of others
  • Strong business acumen and industry knowledge
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, public and external agencies
  • High level of initiative and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with clear expectations and highly responsive, internally and externally
  • Excellent presentation and verbal/written communications skills
  • Displays a high level of initiative and explores new opportunities while understanding the risk to the organization
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access) and additional software knowledge depending on specialty.
  • Must have valid driver's license
  • Must be able to travel 2540% including travel internationally
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in Canada
