Responsibilities
• Repairs plant equipment, machines, and cranes.
• Sets up, adjusts and operates machine shop tools and equipment.
• Uses welding equipment as necessary to heat, shrink, anneal, cut, weld or burn.
• Prepares reports on daily basis
• Implementing preventative maintenance program.
• Requisitions needed parts and supplies.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned
• Complies with the designated QS:9001 responsibilities, environmental
management system, health & safety and company rules and guidelines.
• Ensures company safety policies are adhered to and safe work habits are
utilized by all department personnel and visitors.
• Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) as required at all times.
• Maintains a high standard of general housekeeping consistent with 5S
standards
Quality System Requirements (Authority and Responsibility)
• Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to
product, process, and quality system.
• Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality
system.
• Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
• Verify the implementation of solutions.
• Control further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming product
until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
• Represent the needs of the customer in internal functions in addressing QS
9000 requirements.
Tools & Equipment Used on the Job
• Power Tools, Tools, Small equipment, Cranes, Forklift
Education and Certifications
• Completion of post-secondary education, University / College education
• Trade certificate preferred
Qualifications
• Minimum of 1-3 years of related experience (welding, fabricating, hydraulic and pneumatic experience)
• Willing to work shift work
• Self-starter with a strong initiative
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Able to work independently or as part of a team
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, overhead cranes with VFDs, and DC drive controls
• Must be able to communicate in both written and spoken English
• Able to read and interpret electrical drawings is an asset
• Ability to weld stick and mig is an asset
• Motor and/or drive shop experience is an asset
