Summary:


Within the context of a client and family-centred model of care and, in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Providence Health Care (PHC), the person promotes a safe, respectful, and civil working environment for patients, residents, families, visitors and staff.


Reporting to the Corporate Director, CST - PHC, the Project Manager works with the assigned work streams to ensure all aspects of assigned project work accountabilities are delivered to scope, schedule and budget as described in the project plan.

Under the Corporate Director, and in collaboration with the assigned Leaders, produces unbiased reporting of progress to plan, evaluating the quality of the work completed, identifying risks and issues, setting the project flow, leading change control processes, and reporting transparently through the project governance structure.

Communicates with all levels of staff and management across the project teams to facilitate, consult, negotiate and share information. Provides leadership, guidance and support to designated project staff to advance the CST vision through exceptional delivery. Responsible for monitoring and reporting risk and issues to the Corporate Director, CST - PHC.


Qualifications / Skills and Education:

Education

Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline such as Business Administration supplemented with seven (7) to ten (10) year's recent, related experience in project management of complex strategic and operational multi-site projects and consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups (including the public, senior and middle management, physicians, and staff) or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Experience with managing the financial requirements of complex, multi-site projects is also required. Project Management Professional certification preferred.


Skills and Abilities
Displays comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and methodologies as well as change management practices and trends.


Demonstrates excellent knowledge of business analysis and business skills in effective management of resources in a manner that is financially responsible and consistent with overall goals of the project and health organizations.


Maintains a thorough understanding of available resources for projects and applicable stakeholder groups; provides feedback and detailed analysis on project processes and makes recommendations as required.

Utilizes initiative, vision, independent thinking and creative problem-solving abilities to implement project plans and realize project completion.


Fosters collaboration and effective working relationships with stakeholders that promote cooperative goals and contribute to an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect.


Inspires a shared vision and aligns performance goals and objectives for team and individuals to ensure match with strategy while maintaining group cohesiveness, motivation, commitment and effectiveness.

Applies superior conflict management skills and expertise to persuade and negotiate effective resolution of issues/disputes.


Employs excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present information to relevant stakeholders at all levels of the organization.


Works independently and effectively under time pressure to meet deadlines, balance work priorities and resolve problems in a timely manner.

Demonstrates strong leadership, supervision and management of teams, fostering a respectful, motivating and supportive environment. Possesses strong facilitation skills.


Duties and Responsibilities:


Ensures robust program management of the designated project work streams on progress to the assigned scope, schedule and budget and oversees the development and management of metrics, project interdependencies.


Oversees robust performance tracking and status reporting of project work streams at the appropriate level to all project structures including governance committees.


Responsible to oversee and track the progress toward delivering the Project Plan (including project work streams, vendor activities, operational dependencies and site activation).

Develops and leads a consistent project management approach across the project work streams.

Ensures specific work stream work plans reflect the project timeline and budget requirements, particularly as they relate to overall integrated project plan.

Tracks issues, and ensures that effective processes are in place to assess financial and project risks, identifies risk mitigation plans with the Corporate Director, CST - PHC and monitors progress
