This position is based out the Town of Whitecourt Administration Building.

    This position is responsible for developing grant proposals, researching grant opportunities and ensuring grant requirements are met. This is full time, permanent position that works closely with other experienced staff in the Town's organization.

    Key Responsibilities Include:

    Key Duties:

    • Manage the grant application process, which includes organizing and writing grant applications, ensuring accuracy, attention to detail, and that timelines are met.
    • Research and advise Leadership team of new grant opportunities.
    • Track and report grant activities including application status, funding received, and project outcomes.
    • Prepare interim and grant final reports as required.
    • Prepare annual government grant projects profiles and statement of funding and expenditures.
    • Provide a quarterly report of the status of grant applications, reporting deadlines and awards for the Finance team.

    Requirements:

    Qualifications:

    • Multitasking, organizational and time management skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
    • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong research skills to identify potential grant opportunities
    • Municipal experience is an asset, and in a related position would be preferred.
    • Minimum of three years of accounting experience is desirable.
    • Background in marketing or business writing is an asset.
