This role is in a small team supporting Global Corporate Banking with the management and optimization of capital, funding and liquidity.

Performs data analytics to identify trends, variances and discrepancies, and works with stakeholders across different areas of the bank to ensure the efficient deployment and management of resources.

Applies knowledge of capital and risk models to guide Bankers with capital assessments. Develops and manages models/tools to support Bankers with business decisions.

  • Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendation on regulatory capital, risk/return assessment, etc.
  • Collaborate with Risk Methodology teams in development and improvement of risk models relevant to Corporate Banking.
  • Recommends and implements solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.
  • Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Acts as a point of contact for methodology related inquiries of deal profitability assessments and capital/risk related questions within the Business Unit.
  • Designs and produces regular and adhoc reports.
  • Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprisewide focus.

Qualifications:


  • Typically between 4 years of experience in risk, capital and/or treasury management and postsecondary degree in a quantitative field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of capital framework and/or risk model development/validation
  • Experience within data preparation, data analysis, and statistical tool sets such as SQL, SAS, Excel VBA, R, Python, MATLAB
  • Strong logical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Willingness to learn and being curious;
  • Ability to perform on multiple projects simultaneously and deliver under tight timelines
  • Verbal & written communication skills
