The Opportunity


The IT Project Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of large-scale software and infrastructure projects and the oversight of related technical teams and stakeholders relationships.


In This Role, You Will:

  • Develop project objectives including schedules, clearly defined deliverables, resources and physical assets required to meet project requirements. Develop timelines and expectations for all elements of a project.
  • Manage cross functional project teams and stakeholders across the organization. Anticipate and proactively manage change throughout the project cycle.
  • Lead the development of various project plans, ensuring alignment of activities and priorities and create management reports outlining and defining a project's scope.
  • Identify and manage risk, determine appropriate courses of action on complex issues relating to a specific functional area, business operation or strategy, while exercising judgment on moderately complex decisions that fall outside standard procedures, practices and policies.
  • Gather and analyse information from key business areas, drawing on knowledge experts from across the organization and involving teams as appropriate to compile data, and draw conclusions to make concise and logical recommendations.
  • Clarify and interpret the requests of other departments to understand their core needs, while confirming understanding of objectives and clarifying how potential changes will impact the organization.
  • Execute short and longterm projects to deliver on internal customer needs and resolve issues related to departmental productivity and effectiveness. Use creativity in developing process improvements and providing innovative solutions and process alternatives for increased efficiencies.
  • Assess the value and potential impact of solutions or alternatives including customer impact and cost implications.
What You Bring To The Role

  • A degree in computer science or a related field, combined with at least 8 years of Project Management, particularly enterprisewide implementations.
  • Project management certification is an asset.
  • Experience with Navis N4 or similar Terminal Operating system is an asset.
  • Solid experience with the management of risk, change, issues, time, scope, resources, budget, and quality.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Project and/or other tools that support project management.
  • Experience building and maintaining strong working relationships with business and IT stakeholders.
  • Ability to interact effectively with business and technology groups in order to deliver highly efficient solutions.
  • Experience in managing projects across multiple sites and/or with multiple partners
  • Strong understanding of, and solid experience with, all major aspect
