Head of Department for Toronto Engineering College (Tourism Division)
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Department to lead the Tourism Division at our prestigious Engineering College in Toronto.
As the Head of Department, you will oversee programs such as Hospitality and Tourism Operations, Hotel and Restaurant Operations, Recreation and Leisure Services, and Travel Service Management.

Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement a strategic vision for the Tourism Division aligned with the college's mission and goals.
Provide visionary leadership and guidance to faculty members, support staff, and students within the division.
Set departmental objectives, establish performance metrics, and monitor progress towards achieving them.
Ensure that the curriculum aligns with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends in the tourism sector.
Foster innovation in curriculum design by incorporating experiential learning, industry partnerships, and technological advancements.
Academic Excellence and Student Support:
Promote academic excellence by fostering effective teaching practices, research, and professional development among faculty members.
Support and mentor students, ensuring they receive a high-quality education, practical training, and exposure to industry best practices.
Foster a culture of student engagement, retention, and career development within the tourism disciplines.
Industry Engagement and Partnerships:
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, tourism associations, and professional bodies to enhance internship, co-op, and employment opportunities for students.
Collaborate with external stakeholders to develop industry-relevant projects, experiential learning opportunities, and community engagement initiatives.Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and changes in tourism regulations to ensure program relevance and student readiness.
Budgeting and Resource Management:
Manage departmental budgets, allocate resources effectively, and ensure responsible financial practices within the Tourism Division.
Identify and secure funding opportunities, grants, and sponsorships to support divisional initiatives, infrastructure development, and industry-specific equipment.

$15.50-$39.27 per hour
