Estimator to join their team based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia _or_ Moncton, New Brunswick.

Role Description:


Reporting to the Director, Estimating, the Estimator will carefully review assigned project plans of varying scopes and sizes, and execute Lindsay's full-cycle bid process.

This includes collaborating with the Estimating team and/or working independently to formulate a quantity takeoff, submitting items for tender, and gathering quotations from subcontractors while nurturing existing relationships with partner organizations along the way.

In this role, you will have the ability to collaborate with and learn in-house from an experienced and wide range of construction professionals, while working on a variety of interesting and innovative projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Interpret qualified scopes of work, review project documents, and perform detailed quantity takeoffs;
  • Identify specific prices related to project resources including labour, equipment and materials;
  • Capture and understand trade scopes, communicating gaps and outstanding information;
  • Prepare and submit specific project items for tender, as per Lindsay's bidding process;
  • Request and compile quotations from subcontractors to prepare a cost estimate for the project;
  • Submit bonding and insurance documentation;
  • Recognize risks and limitations related to projectspecific requirements, site, schedule, and market conditions/constraints;
  • Present detailed cost estimates of proposed scopes of work to senior members of the estimating team for review and approval;
  • Nurture and maintain strong relationships with trade partners, consultants, and subconsultants.

Your Qualifications:


Your qualifications include:

  • 25 years' of relevant estimating experience in the ICI construction industry;
  • Post-Secondary education in a relevant discipline, or a combination of education and relevant industry experience;
  • Member of the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (CIQS) would be considered an asset;
  • Gold Seal Certification (GSC) would be considered an asset;
  • General knowledge of construction techniques, methodologies, and practices;
  • Ability to interpret and understand construction documentation;
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fastpace and demanding environment;
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with both internal and external clients;
  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency;
  • Analytical aptitude.
