The City of Abbotsford's Park Operations division is in search of self-motivated, enthusiastic individuals to join their dynamic team as Parks Labourers.

The Parks Labourer is responsible for maintenance and custodial work, assisting Parks Operations staff with the care and upkeep of parks, recreation and playground areas, and cemeteries during peak seasonal times.

You must be able to perform physically demanding activities and be familiar with all the tools of the trade:
weed eaters, mowers, hedge trimmers, etc. You thrive in a fast paced environment with the ability to take initiative to get the job done. You must be able to work effectively in a team setting and individually.

To be considered for this position, you must have:
Completion of Grade 10;
Six months experience in general parks maintenance, landscape, horticulture or construction work.

BC Class 5 Driver's licence with a safe driving record.

This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is $22.29 plus an additional 12% in lieu of all benefits including vacation and statutory holiday pay.
