Data governance and management at TD is part of an enterprise-wide data and analytics ecosystem. Adaptability is key.

You may be part of the data and analytics professional community managing data assets aligned to TD's overarching policies or strategies, or you may find yourself directly immersed in various lines of business.

Are you an experienced data steward and data analysis expert? If so, this role offers a hands-on opportunity to execute on line of business data strategy, working in alignment with Bank-wide data standards and policy.

This is an expert professional role requiring in-depth knowledge in your field of specialty and working knowledge of broader related areas.

You may be appointed Data Steward for your line of business.

This Position has three broad groupings of accountabilities:

Accountabilities to the Team - Team Member

  • Foster a cohesive team; promote a positive work environment
  • Assist team members and provide leadership as required
  • Lead and contribute to groupwide projects, including technology and business projects, contributing innovative thinking and analysis
  • Assist in positively promoting the team and the department within TDAM and across TDBG to build trust and ensure data needs are met
  • Support an environment that promotes respect for the individual employee and adheres to the policies and guidelines of the Bank
  • Support the team in providing leadership, direction, advice and guidance to the team, thus maintaining high levels of integrity, motivation and morale
  • Initiate actions to further improve your own and the team skills and performance, continuously look for opportunities for professional development

Accountabilities to the Customer - Data Management, Data Stewardship and Projects

  • Support and help drive forward TDAM Data Governance policy and procedures
  • Executing data management and reconciliation processes to protect the validity of TDAM data
  • Effectively coordinate delivery of data to customers
  • Review, facilitate and implement the ongoing development and improvement of data processes
  • Work with business partners to monitor data quality and implement data policy standards
  • Reduce data duplication/replication, streamline data flows and allow flexible access to business data
  • Support change management activities around projects or initiatives undertaken ensure clear communication of new processes
  • Promote and abide by the data governance policy of TDAM and the Enterprise Data Governance Office

Accountabilities to the Shareholder - Process Improvement / Project Initiatives

  • Project Initiatives develop solutions related to the TDAM data environment and assist in the delivery of strategic business initiatives:
  • Accountable for the analysis required to interpret business needs into requirements
  • Documenting business requirements as required
  • Ensuring appropriate controls and processes are in place, developed and maintained
  • Review and recommend changes for standardization of position data integrity functions
  • Metrics review and reporting
  • Report / escalate issues or identified process gaps
  • Promote an organization of lean principles with a view to reduce waste and improve effectiveness
  • Comply with current regulations and adapt quickly to change

Job Requirements

What can you bring to TD? Share your most relevant experience, credentials and knowledge for this role, as well as these essential requirements and attributes:

  • Undergraduate degree or technical certificate
  • Five (5) or more years relevant experience
  • An understanding of data architecture would be an asset
  • A working knowledge of SQL and Relational database design
  • A working knowledge of Alteryx would be an asset
  • A working knowledge of Tableau
  • A working knowledge of object oriented design and analysis
  • A working knowledge in office automation toolsets ie. MS Excel Macros, MS Access
  • Working knowledge of TDBG data standards and policies
  • Lead by example and have strong judgment and a proactive approach
