Position Summary Description:

The Associate Engagement Specialist position is responsible for facilitating Associate Engagement processes throughout the company. This position must possess considerable skill in relationship building, presentation development, talent development, event planning and time management.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Proactively plans events and programs that engage associates across the company which will enhance company culture and increase retention.
  • Plans, develop and execute all employee events (Holiday events, New Hire and Thank You lunches, Monthly Celebrations, etc.)
  • Research and lead associate appreciation events
  • Acts as a part of the HR SPS Cares Committee and the company SPS Social Committee.
  • Supports operations in the management of the absenteeism program, addresses concerns with management and associates as necessary and aligns with the company policies.
  • Assists and track the associate performance review process and stay interviews at regular intervals.
  • Handle the performance evaluation tool and process for probationary review and mid/end of ki reviews.
  • Develop leadership training programs and materials to support current and future development
  • Supports managers in coaching, mentoring, and developing associates through the talent development and succession planning processes.
  • Create and research training plans/opportunities.
  • Develop career path/ training plans / succession plans.
  • Handle the scheduling of training and training venues.
  • Administer Employee rewards and recognition program/ Service Award program / Retirement gift program.
  • Manages the employee engagement survey process, assesses trends, gaps and outcomes and create recommendations/action plans.
  • Communicates important employee engagement information.
  • Keeps track of project expenses and is conscientious of remaining within budget given.

Qualifications

  • Certification in HR (Minimum of a Degree/Diploma or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, Development).
  • CHRP designation (Certified Human Resources Professional) an asset
  • Minimum of 3 years of human resources generalist experience
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact efficiently and courteously.
  • Strong consultative skills
  • Labour relations experience an asset.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and integrity of all sensitive data.
  • Must have excellent judgment in all matters related to this position.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Works well under pressure and in stressful situations.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Must have the ability to be flexible to workdays, evening, to meet with associates on occasion.
