ImpAct Coordinator.

This position will s upport the Performance Assurance (PA) processes of Whiteshell Laboratories Restoration Project (WLRP), including the Corrective Action Program, Operating Experience, Contractor Assurance System, and Improvement Action (ImpAct).

The individual will administer the WL ImpAct process, supports ImpAct users, and prepares ImpAct reports and Management Review Meeting (MRM) agendas.

Notifies management or supervisor of all occurrences, injuries, illnesses or safety and health concerns which are likely to harm themselves, their co-workers or any other on the premises in a timely manner and in accordance with established reporting requirements.


What will you be doing?

  • Providing support and following up for the WL ImpAct process such as registering ImpActs, inputting data (e.g. audit data, assessment actions), and training users in the use of ImpAct and action tracking.
  • Running trend reports on various categories of ImpActs, identifying Significance Level 1 and 2 ImpActs to the WL MRM Chair and Responsible Manager of ImpActs requiring a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and/or Event Free Day Resets (EDFR).
  • Documenting Dedicated Screening Team (DST) and MRM decisions related to ImpAct reports and updates in the work flow as required.
  • Assigning trending codes to Significance Level 3 and 4 ImpActs from a preprogrammed menu and notifying the WL MRM Team of additional trend codes required to capture ImpActs that currently do not fit in a category.
  • Monitoring trends and running trend reports as required, and initiating new ImpAct reports to address any identified adverse trends.
  • Contributing to/produce lessons learned bulletins, external bulletins, trend analysis, Site Event Free Day Resets (S-EFDR) and other communications as required.
  • Reviewing OPEX documents outlining various categories of ImpActs for applicability to WLRP.
  • Distributing OPEX alert bulletins to WL Managers for review for applicability within their operations.
  • Monitoring the ImpAct Process Health Report (IPHR) for WLRP monthly and providing reports to the management review teams.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the progress of all WL ImpAct actions and closing of ImpActs once all actions are completed;
  • Daily coding and reviewing of ImpAct reports.
  • Reviewing ImpAct with applicable screening team: reportability, operability, significance level and cause determination effort.
  • Preparing Management Review Meeting (MRM) package of ImpActs for detail review and list of ImpActs for review by exception.
  • Monitoring the progress of the ImpActs.
  • Providing ImpAct training and usersupport.
  • Monitoring and recording/inputting emerging trends in an ImpAct for appropriate resolution and followup with other OPEX Program Specialists.
  • Identifying problems, providing oversight to resolutions and making recommendations for improvements in ImpAct and Corrective Action Programs.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:


  • Secondary school graduation along with twoyear diploma or degree.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with CNL policies, processes and procedures relating to a laboratory environment.
  • Experience and training in the use of Performance Improvement and Continuous Improvement tools.
  • Experience with Corrective Action ImpAct systems.
  • Knowledge of a corrective action processes and causal analysis techniques such as TapRooT, apparent cause and root cause.
  • Broad understanding of the Business and QA processes Compliance Programs.
  • Welldeveloped communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Good computer operating skills, familiarity with databases and MS Office software.
  • Ability to gather information from various sources and to present possible options and initiatives for improvement in a change resistant environment.
  • Excellent time management skills to work on or support several initiatives simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability in problem analysis, action planning, and making decisions in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both collaboratively and independently, with limited direct guidance or supervision.
  • Well organized and able to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and confidential matters with discretion.
  • Knowledge of operations systems, equipment and processes, preferably in a nuclear environ
