Human Resources Coordinator (Canada Summer Job Program)


Hours:
Full Time, 35 hours per week


Term:
May 6, 2024 to July 26, 2024


Location: 962 Bloor St West, Toronto, Ontario


Supervisor:
Director of Human Resources and Labour Relations


Join our team at Sistering, a multi-service agency in Toronto dedicated to supporting at-risk, socially isolated women and transgender individuals facing homelessness or precarious housing situations.

As a Human Resources Coordinator, you will provide valuable support to our Human Resources team in various administrative tasks and projects.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in HR while contributing to the success of our organization.


Responsibilities:


  • Maintain employee records and databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Support the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing paperwork and conducting orientation sessions.
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating training and development initiatives for staff.
  • Provide administrative support for HRrelated projects and initiatives.
  • Help ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.

Qualifications:


  • Enrolled in postsecondary education in Human Resources Management or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Eligibility Criteria:


  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Note:
International students are not eligible participants.
