About You
You have great customer service experience with a keen eye for detail.

You will be an integral part of the Claims Department and will interact with all levels of the organization to expedite claim resolution, including completion of claims reviews to validate accuracy and validity of reports.


Direct Report
Reporting to the Safety Advisor/Claims Supervisor, the Claims Assistant is responsible for completing investigations/documentations within a tight deadline. Investigation of drivers and customers must always be conducted with confidentiality.


Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate, adjust, and process claims, and payments as assigned
  • Processing claims includes taking photos of all vehicles involved in the incident, book vehicles for repairs, complete body shop files, process accident payments, etc.,
  • Interview drivers regarding the incident
  • Develop effective working relationships with external clients, management, and all levels of the organization to ensure customer needs are met
  • Communicate with other departments on status of equipment and credits from incidents
  • Complete reviews of drivers' driving history
  • Respond to drivers' questions and request for experience letters
  • Booking of body shop work and parts shop
  • Review and maintain DCPD reports
  • Document and follow division policies and procedures
  • Provide administrative support within the department and to the Claims Administrator
  • Participate in the education, training, and meetings with fleet drivers.
  • And other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Attention to detail with the ability to analyze and understand complex claim related documents and activities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • A team player who is focused on providing exceptional service and a customer focused attitude with the ability to take direction, work independently and work well with others.
  • Must be able to prioritize and multitask, including being able to remain flexible in continually changing and fast paced situations.
  • Ability to work with time constraints in a complex environment.
  • Possess advanced problemsolving skills with the ability to proactively manage issues.
  • Proficient in word, excel, and powerpoint.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in reviewing/administering claims an asset
  • Postsecondary education or equivalent with a background in insurance experience preferred
