Auxiliary Labourer

The District of North Saanich invites applications for the position of Auxiliary Labourer for a 4-month term (June to September).

This position involves general labouring work of an unskilled or limited semi-skilled nature involving the performance of a variety of manual tasks related to operations and maintenance work in a municipal public works setting for the Parks department.

The incumbent will perform a variety of manual labouring tasks related to the maintenance, operation, and construction of community parks, playing fields, recreation areas and trails.

This position requires the completion of the tenth (10^{th) school grade, preferably supplemented by courses related to the work; previous experience as a manual labourer in the construction industry or a local government setting; the ability to acquire and maintain a valid traffic control certificate; the ability to complete EOCP Operator Certification which would be considered during reclassification process; and possession of a valid B.C driver's license (Class 5).}

This position is a Union position and is subject to the terms and conditions in the collective agreement between District of North Saanich and the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 374.
