Role Summary

The Medium-High Voltage BMG Supervisor is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-voltage electrical systems within the client's Hot Rolling Mill. This role demands deep technical expertise in power distribution, substations, and high-voltage switchgear systems, alongside leadership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Due to the safety-critical nature of the role, candidates must have strong Canadian industrial experience and meet provincial and federal safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise electrical maintenance for medium and high-voltage systems in the Hot Rolling Mill
• Lead electrical technicians in safe troubleshooting and repair of high-voltage equipment
• Oversee maintenance of transformers, switchgear, breakers, and protection relays
• Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance to ensure electrical reliability
• Ensure compliance with CSA Z462 and Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC)
• Perform Root Cause Analysis on electrical system faults
• Coordinate shutdowns, testing, and commissioning activities
• Collaborate with engineering and safety teams to optimize system performance
• Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and reports within CMMS
• Reinforce a strong safety culture through training and supervision

Requirements

• Valid 442A Master Electrician license or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in high-voltage electrical maintenance within a Canadian industrial environment
• Completion of Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) training meeting CSA Z462 and OESC standards
• Hands-on experience with switchgear, transformers, relays, and power distribution systems
• Demonstrated understanding of electrical protection and safety systems
• Excellent leadership, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
• Strong communication and documentation skills
