We are currently looking for a
Receiving
Quality Control Inspector to join our team.


Responsibilities and Accountabilities:


  • Audit, inspect, and monitor quality requirements in accordance with the company quality assurance policies and customer specifications for receiving, and final inspection activities.
  • Perform accurate mechanical, physical and visual inspection of raw materials, components, and subassemblies as per control plans and specification requirements.
  • Verify dimensions of parts using hand precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, height gauges and CMM as necessary.
  • Work closely with the Production team to resolve inspections questions, identify nonconformances and take immediate action to support corrective action and resolution of all issues.
  • In the event that a product being inspected is deemed to be nonconforming; Prepare comprehensive nonconformance reports in a timely manner for review by the Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or Quality Control Manager as appropriate.
  • Document and report inspection results and Completed Purchase Orders. File, scan and archive as necessary.
  • Perform product identification and traceability activities, as required.
  • May be asked to provide training and support to new QC Inspectors in quality assurance techniques.
  • Interpret customer drawings (including geometric tolerances) and technical information packages.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of systems which support the overall quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Safely move components including the use of lifting devices such as overhead cranes and jib cranes as applicable.
  • May be required to assist with Quality Surveillance of sub suppliers.

Qualifications:


  • Educational background in Quality Control or equivalent field of study.
  • 3+ years working in receiving and/or quality control environment.
  • Proficiency interpreting complex manufacturing drawings with GDT specifications to determine the appropriate dimensional inspections to establish compliance.
  • Effective use of ASTM/ASME/other standards, material specifications and statistics, to interpret and verify QA, NDE and other technical test data.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance standards required. Knowledge of ASME Code Section II, Sec III, Sec V, IX; CSA N285, Z299.2 and ISO 9001 an asset.
  • Expertise in the use of appropriate measuring tools and equipment including verniers, calipers, micrometers, depth gauges.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Understanding of specific NDE techniques: liquid penetration, magnetic particle inspection, ultrasonic testing and radiographic testing an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills working within a teambased environment.
  • Strong ability to work independently to complete assignments promptly while maintaining the high standards required in our industry.
  • Ability to solve routine technical problems using variety of systematic approaches.
