Hours & Compensation:


Hours:
Every other weekend. Shifts determined based on program needs.

Pay Rate:
$22.792 per hour, with an additional 2% in lieu of benefits

Start Date:

ASAP

Contributions & Impact:

- prepare and serve attractive, nutritious meals to clients, staff, and visitors at the Emergency Shelter;
- perform all aspects of general kitchen and dining room clean up, including dishes;
- work with and overseeing volunteers;
- practice positive communication with staff and clients ensuring that Food Services is an essential part of a safe and healthy environment for our clients.


You have.....

  • Minimum 1year proven work experience in food services industry and/or formal training in food preparation
  • Work experience in or exposure to a shelter setting (asset)
  • Previous oversight of and/or work alongside volunteers (asset)
  • Exceptional organization skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Punctual and dedicated

Mandatory Requirements

  • Grade 11 education or equivalent
  • Uptodate Vulnerable Sector Record Check
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level-C certification
  • Successful completion of Safe Food Handling Course or equivalent as taught by the Waterloo Regional Health Department
