Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient
- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Laboratory Site Director the incumbent is responsible for the successful operation of the designated section(s) of the laboratory.
These responsibilities will be discharged within the policies of Shared Health Diagnostics as well as the terms of all applicable collective agreements and contracts.
The incumbent will also assist the Laboratory Director in the administration of the laboratories as a whole and may be required to assume the Director's duties from time to time.
Experience:
- Minimum of five years experience in a clinical laboratory including supervisory experience.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):
- Undergraduate degree or Advanced RT certification in an appropriate discipline.
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology with additional formal education in supervision/management.
- Completion of a recognized post secondary program in health care management is an asset.
Certification/Licensure/Registration:
- Registration as a Medical Laboratory Technologist is an asset.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, OneNote, SAP, Lab Information System.
- Knowledge of financial management within a public sector organization.
- Above average organizational skills are required.
- Above average communications skills are required.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills, especially the ability to develop and subsequently support well functioning teams, are required.
- Ability to interact well with health care professionals from other disciplines.
