    The opportunity

    The AVP, Global Talent Development will serve as a critical link between our global talent development vision and leadership capabilities across the organization. As a senior thought leader in the space, the AVP will own the strategy for colleague learning and leadership development inclusive of top talent programing and executive coaching and assessments. In short, this leader will bring our leadership DNA to life.

    In this role, you'll have the opportunity to combine your passion for leadership development, coaching, assessments, and organizational effectiveness. You'll need to demonstrate exceptional skills in strategic thinking, communication, and partner management on a global scale to demonstrate credibility and success.

    The AVP will report into the VP Global Talent Management and Development and partner across the Global Human Resources Communications Team and the business. The AVP will have accountability for a global reporting team.

    Key Accountabilities

    We're looking for a collaborative and influential leader who can leverage relationships and expertise to build trust, credibility, and successful global partnerships with the following accountabilities:

  • Strategist – demonstrates an understanding of our organizational business strategy and what's required to drive leadership behavior change on a global scale; develops and oversees a global integrated talent development strategy to build leadership capability reflective of the DNA needed to drive enterprise success now and in the future; collaborates with HR and business leaders to ensure strategy implementation is consistent across the organization and aligned with the Global talent strategy and the broader HRC strategy.
  • Analyst – applies sound judgement using talent and learning data to make recommendations on development priority areas to inform impactful development programs that drive growth. Monitor and analyze the effectiveness and impact of learning and development programs to create a culture of continuous learning. Provide periodic reports to senior management regarding the status, completion and impact of functional programs.
  • Thought leader – provides thought leadership and insights on external industry trends, research, innovation, and standard methodologies, to continuously review to ensure quality and relevance of top talent programs and impacts.
  • Implementation - Lead the Learning Community of Practice of over 200 learning professionals across the organization to insure a consistent and strong learning experience for all employees. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and formats to include learning in the flow of work into the functional learning programs. Working with Corporate Communications, create internal marketing/communications plan for new and ongoing learning programs.
  • Stakeholder management – Establishes consultative relationships with HR and GLT business leaders to advise on top talent development across the business and in key areas; champions the importance of learning and development to our culture and business objectives to drive partner engagement, support, and sponsorship
  • Vendor management – accountable for building and maintaining quality vendor partnerships; acts as the key point of contact for vendors; accountable for the procurement of contracts and health of budgets

  • What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree with an I/O background a plus
  • At least 5 years' experience in the Financial Services industry preferred
  • 10+ years HR leadership experience; Talent management, HRP, Executive Assessments & Coaching, Learning & Development experience an asset
  • Previous experience inspiring, developing, coaching and leading teams to deliver their best
  • (ACC) Coaching certification an asset
  • Proven track record of learning and development leadership roles, preferably in global and matrixed organizations
  • Previous consulting experience and strong influencing skills a plus
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to quickly establish integrity & trust
  • Strong intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong project management, organizational and follow up skills when presented with multiple priorities in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
