They have an innate ability to teach skating skills to a wide variety of clients, although primarily work well with children ages 3 – 8 years old. They have an innate ability to teach skating skills to a wide variety of clients, although primarily work well with children ages 3 – 8 years old. They have communication superpowers as they quickly create rapport with their participants and the participants' parents, prescribe appropriate and effective skating solutions to help their clients achieve their goals.

You are a customer-oriented, friendly, and outgoing professional who has a serious knack for effectively demonstrating the proper use of equipment, techniques and methods of proper movements while explaining and enforces safety, rules, and regulations. You also take pride in maintaining accurate and up to date records.

You are well versed in the various needs of your clients from strength and conditioning, injury rehabilitation and overall health and wellness. You maintain a welcoming presence day in and day out. While with clients, you remain focused, ensure proper posture and technique and are enthusiastic.

You're a go-getter who has a special aptitude for sales. You have a passion for working with and assisting children/youth while maintaining a positive attitude and enthusiasm for the position.

As a Skating Instructor, a typical day might include the following:

• Confirming tomorrow's sessions with clients (email, phone, text etc.)
• Preparing and designing a program for a new client
• Completing a demonstration session with a prospective client
• Meeting with a client to complete renewal documentation
• Meeting with client to review food journal, sleep habits, progress of fitness (measurements etc.)
• Conducting skating sessions, ensuring proper technique, counting reps, journaling all relevant data
• Updating and maintaining accurate records in customer relations management software

To Land This Role You Need To Have

• Post-secondary education relating to the health and fitness industry is considered an asset
• Recognized Skating Instructor Certification
• Additional certification relating to fitness, health, and nutrition
• 1+ years of experience in a skating instructor role is advantageous
• Experience in the health and fitness industry preferred
• CPR/First Aid certification (required to have a minimum of Emergency First Aid and CPR certification) required prior to start date and must be maintained throughout employment. CPR is to be renewed annually.
• All team members must provide a recent Criminal Background Check prior to commencement of training and/or work.
