Position Overview
We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our organization.

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for a wide array of HR functions including recruitment, on-boarding, performance management, training and development, off-boarding, and personnel policies and procedures.

The Human Resources Generalist has strong interpersonal and communication skills, great at formulating relationships, and eager to take on a wide variety of HR tasks.

Responsibilities:


  • Coordination and facilitation of new hire onboarding and orientation.
  • Compliance and understanding of provincial and federal labour standards.
  • Research and benchmark company practices, compensation, and policies with current market standards to ensure the company remains competitive in the market.
  • Read, interpret, and comply with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Provide support in areas of employee relations, conflict resolution, and talent management.
  • Participate in offboarding activities including updating employee records, processing termination paperwork, and conducting exit interviews.
  • Coach, counsel, and guide managers through disciplinary and performance management processes.
  • Create and administer training programs for all levels of the organization.
  • Update company policies and procedures as required or on an annual basis.
  • Assist with workplace investigations as required.
  • Assist with HR Reporting when necessary.
  • Provide general support to other members of the human resources team including Pay & Benefits Specialist & HR Advisor.
  • Perform other responsibilities as required.
Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Human Resources or related discipline
years of previous HR experience

  • Strong interpersonal skills both over the phone and inperson
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Ceridian HRIS Software is an asset.
  • Familiarity with payroll functions is an asset.
  • CPHR designated or working towards is preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a unionized work environment is an asset.
  • Previous experience in the construction industry is an asset.
Hours of Work
Regular work week will be Monday through Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm with some travel required.
