The Supply Chain Operations Manager serves as the critical link between Supply Chain and Operations across Air Canada's global network including Air Canada Rouge and Jazz for catering/commissary products and equipment availability which includes approximately $ 171M value of Commissary, Alcohol, Capex and F& F.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible to monitor and address thirdparty Supply Chain provider's performance through KPIs, service failures and Corrective Action Plans "CAPs" while proactively seeking for longterm solution implementation.
- Analyze Supply Chain operational issues and challenges, identify and implement solutions based on best practices.
- Accountable to manage and track all emergency shipping requests from Caterers worldwide with responsibility to manage and minimize shipping costs.
- Autonomously make best decisions while balancing operational priorities and costsavings by authorizing, combining and/or canceling emergency orders.
- Responsible for Fresh and Frozen "F&F" supply chain operations activities including audit on ordering, substitution approvals, resolving issues with F&F product shortage, suppliers delivery delays and follow ups with the Product Team on substitutions. Responsible to make decisions on substitutions, reorganize transportation as required and ensure stakeholders are kept informed for accurate invoicing and payment.
- Accountable to monitor inventories valued at approximately 170M annually
- Responsible to ensure ontime shipping and distribution of catering and commissary products and equipment across the Air Canada network daily.
- Identify and troubleshoot operational challenges that prevent ontime shipping and delivery at station level. Proactively identify and implement solutions.
- Forecast and determine ongoing operational requirements, including seasonality and adjust station inventory allotment data as required.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain service provider on daily basis for all operational issues, including "firefighting", inventory management and equipment balancing.
- Utilize the online Supply Chain management operations Web Portal to review and analyze daily operational data, monitor each Catering station stock level and plan for the unexpected situations such as emergency shipments.
- Monitor daily F&F activities with Third Parties and resolve shortage and substitution challenges
- Identify and implement costsaving measures and projects within Regulatory and Safety boundaries.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives such as the Supply Chain Forecasting Module improvement.
- Assist Manager, Supply Chain Operation with CAPEX inventories, balance between station and move surplus to the Central warehouse.
- Maintain and Update the Cabin Services Standards Manual (PUB. 340) and ensure timely publishing of revisions. Prepare Bulletins, check product pictures list to ensure all new items are added to the web portal.
- Draft and issue Supply Chain, Commissary and Product information bulletins to Caterers and Air Canada Catering Operations worldwide.
- Schedule and conduct onsite audits to verify Caterers' compliance with Air Canada SOPs, including inventory management and rotation, metal equipment procedures, etc.
- Ensure adherence to IRAM (Intuitive Risk Assessment Model) for change or introduction of equipment, processes and procedures, and when conducting all investigations (Integrated-AMS Manual, PUB 1, Appendix C).
- Ensure adherence to document retention guidelines (Integrated-AMS Manual, PUB 1, Chapter 4)
- Responsible to be familiar with and refer to Integrated-AMS Manual, PUB 1, Chap 5 for iSMS Management Responsibilities.
Qualifications
- University degree in supply chain or relevant field
- Minimum 35 years of supply chain, catering and/or airline operations experience
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Sufficient knowledge and experience in airlines onboard catering and operations environment and procedures.
- Ability to autonomously make financially and operationally sound decisions on daily basis.
- Ability to work flexible hours as required to meet demanding deadlines and operational requirements.
- Knowledge of latest trends in global and airline Supply Chain management practices.
- Must have excellent communication skills in oral and written English. Knowledge of French an asset.
