Job Information and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Associate Dean, Strategic Initiatives & Community Engagement, the Manager, Strategic Initiatives & Special Projects will:
- Coordinate a high-profile speaker series and other co
- Develop, manage, and coordinate highimpact externalfacing community engagement initiatives and events in support of the connect pillar of the Elevating Impact strategic plan.
- Perform impact assessments and impact reports on the activities and initiatives that advance the goals and objectives of the Elevating Impact strategic plan of the Sobey School of Business.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders such as SMUSA, External Affairs and the Arthur L Irving Entrepreneurship Centre to develop a branded series of student events or competitions that will establish the Sobey School as a destination for top tier business student competitions in strategic areas such as entrepreneurship, workintegrated learning, and venture capital investing.
- Ensure compliance of activities and outcomes with any associated gift or partnership/sponsorship agreements.
- Work closely with the Office of Advancement, Saint Mary's University and contribute to the stewardship reporting for any associated donors or sponsors.
Experience and Education Requirements
To be the successful Manager, Strategic Initiatives & Special Projects you will have:
- A university or college degree or equivalent with a track record of project management and project coordination.
- Minimum 35 years of experience in project management and project coordination.
- Fluency in English with the ability to write and organize reports, and extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong public speaking and oral communication skills
- A dynamic, flexible, and team approach to work with moderatetohigh level of information technology literacy and technical knowhow are essential.
- Ability to be collegial, punctual, reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
- The ability to be detailoriented and thorough in completing work tasks.
- Ability to explore alternative solutions, to adjust actions in relation to others' actions, and to have good problemsolving skills are required.
