Job Overview:

We are actively seeking a HR Generalist to join our team. Reporting to the Sr. Vice President, the HR Generalist will provide comprehensive human resources support and guidance at our manufacturing facility in Stevensville.

This role encompasses various HR functions such as recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, performance management, policy implementation, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations.

The HR Generalist will collaborate closely with the HR team and management to promote a positive work environment and effectively manage human capital.

This position is based on-site at our Stevensville plant.


Duties:


  • Facilitate new employee onboarding, including orientation programs, paperwork, and training.
  • Support recruitment efforts to fill open positions; collaborate with management to identify necessary skills and competencies.
  • Provide expert coaching and support to management in handling employee relations topics, emphasizing conflict resolution, managing absenteeism, conducting difficult conversations, and implementing corrective measures.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for employees at our Stevensville plant, adeptly handling questions, concerns, and grievances to foster a supportive work environment.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and programs that promote healthy workplace relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Lead and support management in complex employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and effective conflict resolution strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive employee files and records in both electronic and paper formats.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 2 years of proven experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar HR role within a manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on employee relations and conflict resolution.
  • Indepth knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices, particularly in conflict resolution and employee relations.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA), and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the capability to interact effectively with staff on a daily basis and manage sensitive issues professionally.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
