Our Finance Department is looking for an Accounting Clerk to join their team.
This position involves work in all major functions of the Finance Department including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, and financial accounting.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist the Controller with day-to-day accounting functions:
- Month-end reconciliations and entries.
- Posting and reconciling monthly EFT vendor payments.
- Tracking and updating KPIs.
- Reconciling and administering corporate credit cards.
- Reconciling and posting monthly fuel usage.
- Other Finance Department activities as circumstances require.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Job Opening and Invoicing:
- Setting up new jobs in accounting system for revenue and cost tracking purposes.
- Oversee and prepare client invoices for review and approval by Project Managers.
- Enter project data and invoices into other clientspecific software programs.
Support Coverage:
Timesheets:
- Daily data entry functions including timesheets and expenses.
- Reviewing and reconciling timesheets to field documents.
Accounts Payable:
- Entering and attaching vendor bills received into accounting system.
- Manage and monitor vendor bill approvals, rejections, and code changes.
Qualifications:
- A Diploma or Certificate in accounting administration, business administration, or office administration from a recognized teaching institution.
- Proven and proficient use of automated accounting software
- Vista Viewpoint or SAP ERP style system would be an asset.
- Must be proficient in use of MS office suite particularly spreadsheet and database programs.
- Ability to maintain high level of accuracy and confidentiality concerning financial and client files.
- Excellent organizational skills, good verbal, and written communication skills.
