SALARY:
Competitive, to be discussed

SCHEDULE:
Monday to Friday from 1:30 to 9:30 pm

Occasionally on Saturdays:
overtime rate 4 hours minimum

POSITION OVERVIEW
The
Security Guard is responsible for the safety and security of the School and its occupants. Patrolling and controlling access to are the primary duties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform afternoon traffic control in the school parking lot
Ensure students get into the school buses safely
Control access to the School in the evening (extramural sports in Gymnasium)
Make security rounds in the School and Grounds
Close the building in the evening
Assist when alarms are triggered and report to the Building Supervisor
Ensure compliance with workplace safety issues
Enforce rules and regulations as well as safety and emergency measures
Assist in setups and takedowns of events (tables, chairs, podiums, banners and other communication equipment)
Advise the Building Supervisor when cleaning supplies are needed
Advise the Building Supervisor of any breaks or leaks needing repairs or immediate attention
Attend meetings as required
Perform other duties as required

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Completed high school diploma
Experience as a Security Guard, preferably in a school or institutional setting
Ability to lift at least 30 lbs
First Aid (asset)
Excellent interpersonal skills (to interact effectively with parents, students, faculty and staff)
Excellent communication skills (ability to actively listen and synthesize)
Excellent teamwork skills (ability to work collaboratively and collegially with other members of faculty and staff)
Excellent sense of observation
Ability to remain calm in emergencies
Bilingualism (English, French)
Professional manner with a strong customer service orientation
Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality
Positive, ''cando'' attitude
