AECOM is seeking an
Environmental Scientist with strong technical experience to work within a team to complete environmental investigation and remediation projects. We seek a technically proficient individual that has strong technical and team building skills, and demonstrated experience successfully supporting investigation and remediation of contaminated sites. The individual should have relevant technical background in environmental science, geology, or hydrogeology but may also consider physical sciences or engineering. This is a
Full-time role.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Support a wide range of environmental investigation and remediation projects.
- Contribute directly to the preparation of technical project deliverables (e.g., work plans, remedial investigations, Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments).
- Conduct soil, groundwater, and vapor intrusion sampling
- Job duties will involve both field work and office assignments with occasional overnight travel required.
- Preparing, work plans, and technical reports, and presentations for technical meetings with clients and regulators
- Actively communicating with the technical team and Project Manger
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant technical discipline, including but not limited to geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, or environmental engineering.
- 2+ years of experience as an environmental consultant, industry representative, or regulator versed in contaminated site investigation, remediation, and waste management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in field activities (Phase I site visits, drilling, groundwater sampling, vapour sampling, etc.)
- Experience developing and preparing Phase I and Phase II reports for submittal and acceptance for technical clients and regulators.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with clients and project team.
- Ability to prepare graphics and reports that present complex technical matter in a clear and concise manner
- Computer proficient in MS Office, and a variety of statistical programs helpful.
- Strong team worker, flexible
- Physically capable of completing field work in urban and rural settings.
- Attention to detail and a thorough approach to work
- Ability to multitask
- Strong communication skills at all levels
- Organized and able to work within a team of technical experts
- Team player
- Valid driver's license
- Relocation is not available for this position.
- Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.
- Offered rate of compensation in Burnaby, BC will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $54,000 $73,000.
