Your Opportunity:


Our Health and Safety Manager is responsible for providing direction to all employees and visitors at the MFT (Georgetown) & QBD (Brampton) facilities.

This role is also responsible for ensuring consistent administration and compliance with all health and safety regulations and programs and the development and delivery of the company-wide Health and Safety program, as well as managing all WSIB claims.


In addition, to oversee functions and resources of their department to ensure compliance with the Company's goals and objectives while providing enhanced support to all departments within the company to achieve those goals.


Main Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Establish and promote the maintenance of safe and healthy working conditions to employees, visitors and contractors.
  • Acts as a resource to management in health and safety related matters and advise on regulations relative to Company responsibilities and liabilities.
  • Ensure that all safety audits are conducted and documented appropriately and maintain statistical data for reporting requirements and prepare monthly health and safety reports.
  • Conducts training needs analyses, develops programs, promotes, coordinates and/or delivers program, policies and procedures to promote safe work practices which comply with all municipal, federal and provincial legislative requirements.
  • Administer and maintain the ReturntoWork program through consultation with Supervisors, Managers and Associates. Monitor return to work plans and modified work agreements.
  • Conduct emergency response drills, maintain an updated Evacuation Plan (Overall and Summary Plans) and maintain contact with the local Fire Department.
  • Coordinate First Aid/CPR training for employees.
  • Guide and promote employee health and safety performance by developing safety systems, policies and procedures, campaigns and programs to prevent occupational injuries and illnesses, and enhance the overall safety culture
  • Lead the Joint Health and Safety Committee, conduct meetings, conduct inspections, maintain meeting records, inspection reports, accident investigation reports, certifications, evacuation documents, and ensure this information is readily available and accessible in the event of an audit
  • Liaise with Ministry of Labour (MOL), Public Health, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), and other relevant organizations.

You Have:


  • College diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Occupational Hygiene, Human Resources or related discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience in implementing health, safety and wellness initiatives in a manufacturing organization.
  • Thorough working knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act.
  • Valid G Class Driver's License. Reliable vehicle as travel between two locations is required.
